The Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium aims to facilitate the exchange of research ideas and progress among scholars from various institutions. It serves as a platform to showcase ongoing research in emerging frontiers, including management issues and applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, behavioral economics, and interdisciplinary theories.
Obejctives
The Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium has consistently emphasized the following objectives from its creation:
Networking among Big XII+ faculty members and Ph.D. students
Learning about ongoing research at Big XII+ schools
Identifying potential areas for research collaboration
Identifying potential areas for joint funding proposals
Providing opportunities for graduating PhD students to interact with faculty members from potential hiring institutions
Providing a collegial environment to advance MIS research and teaching
History
The Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium was established in 2003 to create an informal setting for MIS faculty and Ph.D. students to exchange research ideas. Over the years, it has grown to include institutions beyond the Big XII, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among a diverse group of scholars.
